As we’ve continued to grow here at Oak & Bond Coffee Co. we’ve continued to grow relationships with our green coffee exporting partners and producers. These producers range from micro-lot farm owners to co-ops which support several smallholder local farmers and families to sell their wonderful coffee. Our exporting partners continue to be valuable team member as they allow us to purchase specific microlots and import them into the United States where we roast them in Charlotte, NC.
While many of our coffees have been certified, many often do not have certifications like organic and fair trade. This is a question we certainly appreciate and we believe that through our direct trade and green sourcing partnerships, we trust in the producer’s farming practices. As with many of our producers, they are typically too small and cannot afford the expensive costs associated with obtaining these certifications. Seeking sustainable practices and ensuring equitable pay for producers are at the heart of what we do here at Oak & Bond Coffee Co. and are always available for any questions.
